What does Foley have to offer?
Foley has long been called the gateway to the Gulf, but it's so much more and becoming more all the time.
While treasuring the historic downtown, Foley is growing in all directions. The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and city leaders are always working hard to bring in new clean industry for jobs while keeping its small-town feel.
Foley is quickly becoming a commercial center with new stores, lodging and restaurants offering a variety of choices. The sports complex brings teams from all over, adding to tourism.
OWA is also providing opportunities for employment, dining, entertainment and recreation. However, you will also see farm fields in town and behind the shopping, keeping with the roots of its founding.
Speaking of the town's roots, consider visiting the Foley Railroad Museum and Model Train Exhibit and Holmes Medical Museum, both downtown on Laurel Avenue, then proceed down the block to Stacey's Rexall Drugs and Old-Tyme Soda Fountain, the oldest pharmacy in town, for a bit of nostalgia.
In addition to the sports complex, Foley has an amazing variety of parks. Downtown you'll find Heritage Park and the Dog Park. For nature lovers, visit Graham Creek Nature Preserve.
Foley is a great place to live if you want to be able to get to the beach in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, or to put a boat in a river or bay within a few minutes. Homes are available in every price point and with a variety of lifestyle offerings, from in-town living to waterfront on rivers and bays, or neighborhoods with a golf course at their center. It's a great place to retire and to raise a family, with something for everyone.
Foley also has festivals, Mardi Gras, concerts, school-sponsored sports and events, movies in the park, assorted parks in town and as preserves with walking and biking trails, and other special opportunities to gather.
